Approach:


An interactive approach is used that engages participants in discussion of the relevant issues, and how to resolve them. Through group exercises based on a case study, participants will discuss and apply aspects from the course. The workshop material will reference current best practices from a number of global resources. A comprehensive set of course notes will be provided to each participant.


The course will show the types of support a PMO can bring to an organisation or company, together with its benefits. Checklists for PMO set-up considerations, terms of reference and a PMO organisation chart template are provided, which can be tailored by a company for specific use. These include sample roles, sample PMO functions, and a sample documentation standard.

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Discuss the role of a PMO and the overall value it provides
  • Understand all the basic PMO services
  • Build a general PMO deployment model
  • Identify more sophisticated PMO services
  • Be able to sell the value of a PMO to their organisation
