PMBoK Project Management Fundamentals

On this short course you will learn the ABC's of Project Management and gain a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in the unit of competency Manage Projects (BSBPMG510A) issued by TAFE NSW.

Course Structure:

3 days of face-to-face training.  Newcomers to project management or practicing project practitioners who wish to refresh their knowledge of fundamental project management concepts, tools and techniques. There are no pre-requisites for the course.


Training Course Description:

This popular training program provides an integrated approach to learning with a balance of theory and practical components. The theory is demonstrated to participants in a project team environment through relevant, practical activities designed to reinforce the learning outcomes. Within each module, learners examine each of the project management knowledge areas including Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communication, Risk and Procurement Management. Also examined throughout the course, are soft skills including leadership and negotiation that have been proven to be essential for project success.


PMBoK Aligned topics:

  • Fundamentals overview, including: What is a project; What is project management; The project life-cycle; The nine knowledge areas; Project roles and responsibilities; and Alignment to strategic objectives
  • Initiating and scoping a project
  • Planning a project
  • Executing and controlling a project
  • Closing and evaluating a project

  • Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in the unit of competency Manage Projects (BSBPMG510A) issued by TAFE NSW – Hunter Institute
